Epiphan Video and Echo360 are announcing a new partnership to bring Epiphan’s Pearl family of capture appliances to EchoVideo.

This collaboration will give higher education institutions greater flexibility in how they deploy lecture capture, combining EchoVideo’s video platform with Epiphan’s dedicated, multi-source capture hardware.

A flexible hardware option for EchoVideo classrooms

EchoVideo is widely used as the lecture capture workflow and video management platform across higher education. Through this partnership, institutions will be able to add a reliable hardware foundation while maintaining the experience instructors already depend on.

This approach enables AV and IT teams to standardize on EchoVideo while expanding classroom capabilities with purpose-built capture devices designed for long-term deployment.

Reliable, automated capture without workflow disruption

Epiphan Pearl appliances are dedicated capture systems designed to record multiple classroom sources, including instructor cameras, presentation content, and room audio.

With automated scheduling, capture can:

  • Start and stop recordings automatically
  • Record multiple classroom inputs simultaneously
  • Publish content directly to EchoVideo
  • Eliminate manual file handling and transfers

Because Pearl systems use dedicated hardware encoding, they avoid the instability commonly associated with PC-based capture solutions, helping reduce downtime and support requirements.

Designed for modern, multi-source classrooms

As classrooms evolve, institutions need to capture more than just a camera and slides.

Pearl appliances support up to six simultaneous video sources, enabling more flexible room designs that can include document cameras, lab setups, additional camera angles, and other AV inputs.

This gives institutions the freedom to design classrooms around teaching needs while maintaining a consistent EchoVideo workflow.

Built for scale across campus

From standard classrooms to lecture halls and specialized learning spaces, Epiphan provides a scalable hardware platform for future EchoVideo deployments.

With centralized monitoring and control through Epiphan Edge, AV and IT teams can manage device fleets more efficiently, improving uptime and simplifying large-scale deployments.

Expanding access to video learning

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to making video learning more accessible, flexible, and reliable for institutions worldwide.

By combining EchoVideo’s platform with Epiphan’s capture appliances, institutions will be able to extend the value of their existing investments while delivering more engaging and dependable learning experiences.
